For over two decades, the principals of World‑X have been working to develop concepts for the securitization of real estate and infrastructure assets. In October 2008, the original venture received regulatory approval and was recognized as a securities exchange for the listing and trading of real‑estate‑based products; however, the Global Financial Crisis forced the project to be shelved.

Today, in 2026, with renewed global interest in the securitization of real‑world assets, the timing is ideal to introduce the World‑X framework.

Leo is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and negotiator with more than four decades of experience in finance, strategic development, and business leadership, combined with a forward-thinking approach to technology. He has successfully founded and led ventures in capital markets, real estate investments, and private enterprises. As Founder & CEO of World‑X, Leo is advancing a framework to structure real‑world assets into exchange‑listed securities. His long‑standing leadership in the evolution of real‑estate–linked capital markets includes earlier work where he spearheaded efforts to establish a real‑estate securities marketplace – including the successful receipt of a Recognition Order as a securities exchange.

Leo serves as Managing Partner at C&A Investment Partners, advising on negotiation, finance, transaction structuring, and execution across corporate/commercial and real‑estate mandates.

Renowned for his ability to navigate complex transactions and foster strategic growth, Leo brings deep expertise in M&A, corporate restructuring, and high-stakes negotiations.

Rosy Mondin – Founder & President

Legal and regulatory strategist shaping governance, compliance, and policy across emerging industries.

Rosy is a highly accomplished legal executive, policy contributor, and entrepreneur with a 30 years track record advancing corporate/commercial strategy, regulatory compliance, and governance in growth-stage industries. She has co-founded and led multiple ventures across the cannabis and capital markets landscape, including egX Group, Soma Labs Scientific and Quadron Cannatech.

Recognized as a key voice in Canada’s cannabis legalization, Rosy participated in federal task‑force consultations and delivered Senate testimony on the Cannabis Act, and helped shape industry policy through her founding and advocacy work with the Cannabis Trade Alliance of Canada. Her career spans private practice, public-company governance, and federal policy advisory, advocacy and interlocutor roles.

Rosy provides legal and strategic guidance to organizations navigating regulatory governance, risk management, and structured growth across the cannabis, real‑estate, and capital‑markets sectors.

Jeff Durno – Founder

Jeff Durno is a partner in the Capital Markets Group at Cassels, one of the largest business law practices in Canada. Jeff’s practice focuses primarily on securities and corporate finance matters. He provides strategic advice to clients – from startups to emerging and established businesses – in structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions and financial restructurings.

Active in the public market for more than two decades, Jeff acts for issuers, investment dealers and investment advisors across a range of industries including technology, manufacturing and natural resources. Jeff provides creativity and innovation when structuring a deal or mapping a strategic plan and he executes analytically and efficiently, taking the guesswork out of transactions.

As the former Managing Partner of a Vancouver-based boutique law firm, and a director and officer of several technology-based companies, a merchant bank, as well as TSX and TSX-V listed companies, Jeff brings a unique perspective to the business of law.
